Description

GNB Global Inc. is a manufacturing, supply and construction services company specializing in engineered fabric tensioned steel-framed buildings. As a leader in the industry, we are rapidly growing and looking for a Fabric Production Supervisor to join our exciting team in a fast-paced environment. The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the fabric department in the production of high-quality fabric panels, covers and assemblies in a timely manner while maintaining a positive work environment. The position will oversee and assist with the daily fabric plant operations including process/procedure improvement activities as well as supervise and provide direction to the production floor personnel, monitor the quality of work, ensure employees receive the proper training, and address production issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a quality product is consistently produced according to company standards
  • Ensure daily set up, change over, quality and tool/equipment inspections are completed
  • Ensure the proper processes are followed in the production of the fabric products
  • Ensure staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising performance; developing personnel growth opportunities, coaching, counseling, disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures
  • Maintain material/workflow through the facility and coordinate and delegate floor activities
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times
  • Continuously evaluate and modify the plant layout and material workflow for increased throughput and productivity
  • Monitor and enforce work start, break and stop times of the production floor personnel
  • Attend and participate in regular production meetings
  • Address conflicts of interest and provide solutions
  • Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment


Requirements

  • Two (2) years’ minimum leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing plant preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean principals, raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Industrial sewing and/or fabric welding an asset (hot air, plastic or polyethylene)
  • Strong supervisory, leadership and management skills
  • Strong knowledge of plant and manufacturing operations required
  • Able to read blueprints and parts lists
  • Ability to work independently with little direction and as part of a team
  • Basic Microsoft Office and computer skills
  • Spanish speaking preferred
  • Ability to delegate and assign work
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to effectively problem-solve
  • Lift and/or move 75 lbs., carry 50 lbs. and bend, sit, stand, walk, twist with ease
  • Ability to work on knee using knee pads
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools & work near mechanical parts
